Marden Quarry

Went off blackberry picking today and got quite a lot, certainly enough to make a blackberry crumble, yum. This place is 5 minutes walk from home and when your there it feels like a million miles from home because it is so tranquil.
I took lots of pictures but chose this one.

Marden Quarry

The quarry holds mirror carp well into double figures as well as common carp also to a very good size.

The carp fishing at Marden Quarry has been very good in recent years with carp to 18lbs reported.

Other species are roach, rudd, tench, perch, bream, crucian carp and the occasional large goldfish.

The water has been stocked in recent years with both roach and perch.

The Environment agency installed spawning structures in Marden quarry which appear

to be working well, as large numbers of fry have been reported this year.

There is no close season on this water.
