slow food
We had a fantastic day today doing 'Slow Food Saturday', a day of cycling around the villages at the bottom of the Mutianyu Great Wall, eating local foods and watching cooking demonstrations. It was incredibly hot, and tiring on the bike, but brilliant. Onion pancakes, smoked fish (which we watched being gutted, marinated and cooked), home made ice cream... And even the better for some micro-brewed beer at the end of it... :)
This chap was making milk doufu (tofu), which was very tasty indeed. I just like one of the volunteers watching in the background, for some reason looking shocked!
