Wesley
We had lots of jobs to do today, but found that our brains were still partly in tourist mode.
So on our way to Boots and Sainsbury's we took a detour to John Wesley's chapel, right in the heart of Bristol.
I've walked past it umpteen times without barely a second glance, as I'm sure thousands do every day of the week. But we've all been making a big mistake because this is a real gem.
The chapel itself is interesting, but the preachers' rooms upstairs are absolutely fascinating - full of artefacts belonging to the Wesley brothers.
Our visit was brief because we went in shortly before the building was due to close, so I'll definitely be making a return visit.
Apart from that and the jobs, the only thing of real note today was returning to the gym after a fortnight and discovering that, despite the beer, paella, horchata etc, I had actually managed to lose a pound in weight.
I guess that walking around Spanish streets in the mid-thirties counteracted the dietary blips. Whatever caused the weight loss, it was a nice surprise.
