Fighter Jets in 3D
Day Three at the Light Photographic Workshops in Los Osos, CA.
Today's lesson was on composites and 3D anaglyphic stereo images. The strongest 3D images possses a strong foreground, middle elements, and background. By accurately capturing two slightly separated images of that scene, one can compile a 3D anaglyph (red/cyan).
To facilitate this I set up a couple of model jets that were on display (workshop owner Hall "Bull" Schmitt is a former Navy pilot and Top Gun instructor) and fixed up a rig allowing the students to practice shooting in 3D.
Since the nose of the plane extends beyond the frame in 3D, it appears to follow you as you move from left to right and back again...
