Memory lane blip
For a long time in my earlier times living in London this ways daily tube stop. Today I find myself here on an unintended route between the SW and the W as other forms of transport are not functioning. Not the most direct route but not disastrous. It certainly is a benefit of living in a public transport rich city (whatever the naysayers may think) that there are always options.
Have been to a committee meeting for my theatre group. My last, for a while certainly, if not always, as I shalln't be standing again next year. Well, that's my intent anyway - a blip on the 2nd October after AGM might see me retracting those words but I hope not. I've done my time and with other projects bubbling up I'm ready to turn my creative energises elsewhere. And frankly after that meeting I won't miss it. In the main it was fine but a couple of contentious issues and, in my view, a fundamental 'missing the whole bl***y point' by a fellow committee member made parts less than pleasant and removed a lot of the fun. Maybe it's my age, or just a sign that it's time for me to move on.
Anyway, heading home to see if the family achieved their ambition of a Super Slobby Sunday and have stayed firmly indoors. With grey skies and lots of rain they'd be very wise. I'm looking forward to being there.
