Heron

I uploaded this shot without a description, as I was pressed for time earlier.

We decided to have a walk by a local canal, with our daughter riding ahead on her bike. I spotted a heron on the canal bank, but it flew off almost immediately. I saw it land on the top of a canal side workshop, but it was too far off. I haven't seen too many herons so I was a little disappointed not to get a good look at it.

Fortunately, on the way back I saw it again (or another) on the opposite bank. This time I did manage to get a few shots before my daughter rang the bell on her bike and it flew off again.
