Old Mill
This is a mostly derelict old mill near Holm in Inverness. A very faded sign at front says it's part of Nairn Sawmills but I think it must have been something else before that - possibly textiles. Its just two or three hundred yards upstream from Holm Mills (old woollen mills) but about a couple of hundred yards from the river so not water-powered. But there is a brick building on the mill race with lots of pipes so they could have used it as a water source. Between the mill and the river there's a very large sunken area perhaps a 100 yards square. Bleaching croft? The shot was taken from this area. At the front side a firm making concrete kerbs etc has been around for a few years. But since last year Balfour Beatty seem to be using the rear area for storing large cable reels which also block off some photo-opportunities that I've used in the past.
Went on to the river which was very high as it passed over the weir.
