Autumn sun

Autumn has definitely arrived here. Leaves are falling, the bracken is dying down, fly agaric and other fungi are shooting up but more than anything its the smell. I noticed it early this morning walking the spaniel just before the rain came down and wind started blowing, its a distinct wet heather and earth smell.

My original post today was of a beefsteak fungus but I later realised that it was poorly focussed so I removed it. I'll try and find it to blip on another day.
