Stinker of a day
Woke up today with a good bit of energy to go out and take a number of photographs and hopefully get the vast majority of project work at College done. 11am and i have nearly completed a film of shots from around Edinburgh. I drive back to the college and then head to another class.
2 Hours later and i'm out again really liking some of the shots i was actually managing to get. This felt great, for a few months i've been missing this sort of enjoyment from the Photography side of things. By 3pm i'm just about to develop my shots and start getting the film by putting it though the Fix etc etc. I give it a wash as you should when developing the film (as seen in todays blip) and then i go out to put the film in the dryer for about 15 mins, although it never quite got that far.
It turns out that when i put the film in the camera the film hadn't quite been put in right and unspun after a couple of shots and went back into it's nice wee shell. Every single shot i thought i had taken, i hadn't. I couldn't have been more confident that at least 5 of the shots would have been good for my coursework, they just seemed to be perfect for what i was hoping to demonstrate. I guess these things happen, but when they do they are a pain in the arse. It just feels like today has been a complete waste, but i am actually not at all bothered by it now (an hour after discovering i'd lost a days work). After all...
