En route to Hemkund
Today, it was Hemkund, the pilgrimage site where most of the people headed to, since the start of the trek. I along with another trekker decided to try the horse's back this time, and it was a right decision. We were going much closer to the snow-capped peak which we had been seeing from Valley of Flowers. There were several flowers, several streams on the way to Hemkund. The sight would be prettier than any other religious site, I believe. The green sarovar around gurudwara was still, with hardly any movement. There were people taking dips in this holy water, one of them encouraged us to take it too. That time most of us were not prepared, but now it is easier to think at least.
We could not stay for long there, the air being thin causes a slight numbness in head.
On the way back, we were made to observe Brahma Kamal, some got really ecstatic seeing it. It blooms once in a while and is known to be found mainly in this part of the Himalays. This sight was at the cost of our raincoats, which were picked up by someone when we were posing closer to this flower up hill.
When we climbed down, we happened to meet an officer on duty for Valley of Flowers. He was very cordial in nature and engaging in conversations. He offered all he could. It was good meeting him at the end of the trek.
