JB

This is my dad.

He doesn't always look like this (crazy), he is just making a face. But he is kind of crazy too.

My dad's name is actually Jim Bill (JB for short) - that's his first name, he doesn't have a middle name. I don't ever think of it as being pretty Texan, but I guess it is.

He has done a lot of different things in his life, no one ever seemed to really stick. When I was a kid he was roofing, then he worked for a machine shop for a while, then he owned a machine shop. Which he still does, more or less.

But for a while, he was head brewer at a local brewery in Fort Worth as well - that's his real passion, brewing. He's very good at it too, always has been. He made a beer while he worked there called Iron Thistle that won many awards, as did several of the other varieties he was brewing.

Appropriately, he and my mother are currently making wine in the kitchen.
