Cinder cones

In celebration of one of the chapters of my thesis being turned into a journal article and today being accepted for publication in The Journal of Petrology, my crew at the fire hall bought Cornetto ice cream treats. The original intent was lava cakes, but those being hard to come by on short notice, Cornettos did the job: "they're like cinder cones, or something..."
