Liquid Gold
The First Minister and some of the Cabinet were at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown for dinner on our way to Elgin for the last of the summer visits. We had an excellent tour, hosted by Grant Gordon ( a member of the founding Grant family which still own the business) and Stuart Watts , the site leader at Dufftown. The best selling malt in the world has been made here for almost 125 years - and of course a small amount of it in the 49 warehouses on site proves the point!
We were told that the 50 year old sells for £10,000 a bottle so this cask should be worth quite a bit. Bot no, we didn't get to taste it - the wee dram of 21 year old at the end of the meal was very good though!
