Summer's over

Yesterday I walked along the South Bank in London, in shirtsleeves, on a very pleasant late summer/early autumn day. Back in Scarborough today, waking to grey sky and heavy showers, which cleared later, but still the feeling in the air was distinctly autumnal. So this evening the seafront was not humming with tourists, but returned to town people to walk on the empty south Bay sands, but now with warm coats not T-shirts.
At least Autumn can become a very beautiful season...
