Forest Path Railway Crossing

This is the forest path that I take regularly to cycle to and from my girlfriend in Goirle. However, today I took the time to wonder what this sign is doing here. Isn't this the traffic sign to warn for a single track railway crossing?

It is placed just before a small bridge over a creek (De Nieuwe Leij if I'm not mistaking). I have never seen a train come anyway close to the sign, normally it's just people walking their dogs or their parents that live in the elderly care centre just a few meters back.
