This was bought as a little pressy many years ago for Mrs Booty. It was only recently that we discovered what it is, care of antiques roadshow. Apparently it's a 'ring holder.' When Mrs Booty is despatched into the garden she can leave her rings slotted over the tail.

I think the cat is made from Walnut wood.
