Hilton for Pigeons

I pass this a lot - on the southside of Glasgow. My initial thought was to Blip it and ask Blippers if they could tell me what it was.

However I was able to speak to a couple of people at the nearby Larkfield community centre. They told me that a lot of people assume its a pigeon loft (that was also my choice). In fact there is a pigeon loft just behind it and the pigeon fanciers name this structure the 'Hilton for pigeons'. However it has not been used for that purpose and was in fact used for educational purposes for children. They kept a lot of plants in it.

I have a feeling I only have part of the story. I'm sure there must be more history to it.
