Thanasis Place

Thanasis' Place is a traditional taverna in the nearby village of Kouklia. We went tonight for a meze with all the people that are on resort for our friend's wedding on Friday - it was a lively mixture of Russian and Welsh people! Thanasis is the name of the man who owns the taverna and does all the cooking - his lovely sister is the head waitress. They laid on a great feast for us tonight, including my favourite stuffed courgette flowers. There were folk dancers too, keeping us all entertained... it was too dark for a good action shot (I hate the flash on my camera), so here is a still moment during "arapies tis kandilas" or "dance with a tumbler".
