early evening light
The late sun hitting the hills was quite dramatic with the dark sky behind, as I left the supermarket on my way home from work tonight. I put the groceries in the car and took a couple of quick pics right there.
The house in foreground... pre-earthquake I might have euphemistically referred to it as handyman's dream. Now I'd say what you see is what you get. Unlike some places, with this one you can probably tell from a close-up look whether it's damaged or not. And being timber, it probably survived better than many other structures
Funny how the concept of a desirable dwelling changes so much. A house that merely requires a coat of paint is now quite sought-after...
If I won lotto I probably still wouldn't give tuppence for a penthouse suite!!
