Change of season

The dried grasses in the foreground around the olive trees are leftovers of summer's drought but the grey clouds heading southwards from the mountains are a sign of autumn. It's still hot during the day - up to 30 C - but the nights are cooler.

This old stone hut near Fouzilhon, the village in the distance, would have been a shelter for a goatherd. They're less common than the mazets or vineyard shelters and this one seems to have a large piece of slate which supports the smaller stones of the roof.

I'll be off on a jaunt for a couple of days, hoping to find an internet connection, but may not.
