Mouth watering

My little girl suffered with glue ear, otherwise known as otitis media and she recently had grommets inserted to improve her hearing and reduce the frequency of her ear infections.

We were asked to submit DNA samples for a study into glue ear, to see if it's genetic or not.

Getting a spit sample from a 5 year old is pain staking work. She tried rubbing her tongue on the roof of her mouth, smelling lemons, curry powder, looking at birthday cake... But ultimately she found sobbing her little heart out over the frustration of the whole thing produced the most saliva.
