Back in familiar territory.
It took two visits to L'viv to realise that is was definitely one of my (our) favourite locations on the trip. It has a charm that some other cities in Ukraine lack. A vibrancy. It is one of the oldest cities in the region but it feels young at the same time. This may be due to the fact that is still finding it's own identity on the European stage, so to speak.
Next year it will be packed with beer guzzling football fans when it hosts the Euro 2012 finals. There might be a hangover of beer guzzlers for a few years to come thanks to cheap Ryanair/Easyjets flights to L'viv's new airport. So, if you wanted to experience L'viv before it becomes the new Krakow, Prague (because, let's be honest, as beautiful as they are, you can't help notice the stag-party stamp that us Brits have left) then go now. Before 2012. Quickly.
The next day we planned to walk back across the border to Poland.
