Open Doors..........and more
The sign advertises Open Doors day on 17-18 Sept for Glasgow's Built Heritage. On the demolition site opposite its more than doors that have been opened. The demolition work has cut slices through rooms to reveal the decor and wallpaper etc that was once in fashion when the rooms were occupied. I did crop this to show only the rooms and their contrasting decor but on balance I preferred the wider view for blip purposes.
I guess I'll file this photo in the 'for the record' category and dig it out for compare / contrast when the shiny new building is finished in 2013.
Good trip to Glasgow today to get a new lens for the holidays. Hadn't realised there was still quite a shortage due to the earthquake etc in Japan. The lens I was looking for was completely out of stock in Glasgow and would take a day or so to source from elsewhere and the one I settled on was the last one they had in stock. I think the re-supply situation is easing but I was surprised at how tight it seems to have been.
