Colisseum, Rome

We got up early and caught the bus to the train station. There was no direct train to Rome today and the journey took a little bit longer than on the way up. AS soon as we arrived at Roma Termini station, we went to the youth hostel that we had booked. It was only a five minute walk from the train station. We weren't allowed to check in until 3pm so we dumped our bags in the left locker and went for some lurch. When we got back , we were given a key to the room. We have all been allocated a bed in an eight bed dorm (there are seven of us). The kids had never stayed in a youth hostel before and were quite surprised to see the room. They commented that it looked like a world was bunker. Some poor guy from Taiwan had to have the 8th bed. He must've been really surprised to walk in and find five kids.

We then went for a long walk around the city. We must've been walking for about four hours. We found a restaurant on the way back to the hostel. The kids were exhausted when we got back and fell asleep as soon as their heads touched the pillows.

We were also there in July 2009
