Ridge effect

The contour of the cloud layer, mountain ridge, and shadow caught my attention. Turns out there's a perfectly good explanation for this called "ridge effect." As the sun heats up the morning air, it is forced up the side of a ridge and lifts any lingering night clouds. Whatever the mechanism, it makes for a pretty picture.
