No Stopping

"The individual must not merely wait and criticize, he must defend the cause the best he can. The fate of the world will be such as the world deserves."

- Albert Einstein

I had a hard choice today: this Noisy Miner or one of my beloved rainbow lorikeets. In the end I've gone with the Miner, primarily because it amuses me. ;-) (Here's the almost-blipped lorikeet.)

This particular Miner is a stroppy little basket, that I think has some chicks in a nearby tree. Because of that, it's very keen to keep all comers away; I've been buzzed by it myself once, and I've seen it go at a number of others. It is, in fact, very keen that there is no stopping near its nest. ;-) I was walking off aft taking some lorikeet shots, and one of our psychologists was walking towards me, when the Miner shot past, almost whacking him in the head. It swooped overhead and onto this sign, and I grabbed a shot of it as it sat there.
