Do you want your eyes pecked out?

Gathered the eggs early yesterday and late today, so there were 12 in total when I tried to collect them today! This lady had other ideas and was guarding them quite aggressively. Once I rattled the feed bucket her maternal concerns were over ruled by her stomach, and I made off with the eggs while her back was turned!

The chap came to weed kill the paddock tonight so the hens had to be shut in while he sprayed his noxious chemicals. I have tried everything to get rid of the docks and ragwort but have now resorted to the professionals. Have to wait 2 - 3 weeks before I can put the ponies into the field, but it will be worth it in the long term.

A lovely warm and sunny day so I was able to spend it all outside! I made a start on cutting the grass, then I hoed and dug up weeds in the veg garden, and now tonight nice, kind hubby is finishing off the rest of the lawn mowing. Am trying to pursuade him we need a sit on one . . . . There is a gardening exhibition this weekend, so fingers crossed!
