Torta di Pere ( pear cake)

My mother said to me this morning; 'your ideal weight is 1/2 a stone lighter'.

So, in response, amongst my mess and disorganisation I decided to try out an indulgent recipe I learnt whilst I was with the Italian family.

Ironically, the pears have come from her garden.
