The Vital Spark
Depressing sort of day as far as the weather is concerned. Mist across the River Clyde so dense I couldn't see Dumbarton Rock never mind seeing Campbell's house.
I knew this would happen as I had the car washed yesterday, and a rental car at that !
Anyway, popped into Port Glasgow met with my mother's financial guy, did a bit of shopping for the weekend, had a pie and a pint at the Argyll Arms, filled the car with petrol, had a heart attack and then went back to Langbank.
Miserable afternoon so I settled down with a glass of Tesco's Ribena and a wee read of the great Neil Munro short stories "Para Handy and the Vital Spark".
Not having a fish supper tonight, decided I needed something 12,000 calories lighter so am about to sauté some Clydeside tomatoes with organic spinach and a touch of basil and a soupçon of blue cheese.
Whisk 3 Scottish free range eggs add to a pre-heated small skillet and when the omelette is almost ready add the tomato spinach mixture , fold over gently et voila dinner is served.
Maybe a rainy Friday ain't too bad after all !!!
Great weekend everyone.
