The Sky at Night

A beautifully clear sky tonight had the moon shining bright and is worth a blip from time to time. We thought that it was a full moon but a bit of research tells me that the full moon is not until 12th September.

Never mind, I got out the tripod and captured some images using the 300mm end of my big zoom lens. Although this is a good image, it is not as sharp as I saw it through the viewfinder and I'm a bit concerned that the focus isn't correct hitting the sensor. That said, I was being lazy and neither used a self-timer shot nor a remote shutter release so it may simply be a touch of camera shake and nothing to do with the focus.
