Dungeness

My first visit to Dungeness. I chose this photo to blip, as it shows quite well the unusual mix of shingle and vegetation. The bird is a great black-backed gull (it has pink legs). We also saw a female sparrowhawk on the beach, and a black tern flying low over the waves.

Earlier in the day we visited the RSPB reserve, and saw (amongst many other birds) a female marsh harrier, a hobby and a little egret. There were quite a few house martins too, making their way south.
