Dogwood Red Autumn

First sign of autumn today in the Dogwood tree (state tree of Virginia, for those of you who might be interested).

I love the deep red this tree's leaves turn each year. This branch is located directly outside the window where my writing desk is located. So it is easy to enjoy the Dogwood's beauty.

I hope the frost stays away so we can enjoy the full show of autumn leaves.

For those interested ~ the street sweeper came by today or yesterday and got the last of Hurricane Irene from our street's gutters. Not so for the entire city, as there is still plenty of curbside crap, but our busy little street is done. Yeah ! And we also got the last of our yard debris cleaned up. So our yard and city sidewalk is looking much cleaner and easier to navigate now.
