Ecxitable

Whilst everyone else was worrying about speeches, who sits with who, how their new automatic flash works and other wedding things the children were oblivious to it all and running amok round the hotel. I am still desperately trying to work out the flash that I bought but I think that the main reson I'm having difficulty is that it is pretty much fully automatic and works best when the camera is an automatic mode. I don't use automatic modes, not even auto-focus but it looks like I am going to have to relent and give up a certain amount of control. This does not make me happy, but I will get used to it.

My journey down was very pleasant, both the trains were on time and and neither was very busy. I arrived in the lakes to find t absolutely precipitating down so I didn't get much of my planned exploration done before the rest arrived but instead explored the bar (£4.20 for a pint of Peroni yet only £2.50 for 35ml of spirits, with the classy brandy, cognac and armagnac pushing up to £3.20 for 35ml and no decent snackage).

In the evening we all (27 including 7 children at least 2 of which are babies but there may have been 3 depending on your cutoff age for babies) went to The Royal Oak Inn at Cartmel up the road for some food, very nice game pie though it was one of those casserole with a slab of puff pastry on the top pies which I wouldn't really class as a pie but each to their own. It was however very tasty.

Back at the hotel mainly drinks were drank, some from the boot of a car in the car park (with the intent of collecting empty cans to tie to the back of Andy and Helen's Escort) and more fretting about speeches went on (though very little acutal progress on the speech was made).
