Meeting for lunch!
It's amazing how much insect life ther is about at the moment, even though the weather is definitely on the turn. My blip yesterday was of the Buddleia which is still flowering and earlier on this summer I blipped the Echinops and they are continuing to flower.
Came home from church in time to watch the F1 build-up but was distracted on way to front door by the flowers and the insects. There were at least 10 ladybirds on the Beech and bees and hoverflies zooming about busily.
I'd noticed the ladybird tucked cosily in the Echinops flower and took some pics of it but then the bee arrived. It may not be the best pic out of those that I took but I thought it just shows how important it is to ensure food plants are around throughout the season.
Here is a slideshow of some of the other shots.
