Balvenie distillery, Dufftown

LH visited Balvenie Distillery today with his two brothers and dad. This was a delayed Christmas present (it isn't easy to always get us together) and was well worth the wait. The distillery opened specially for us and the tour cannot be reccomended enough. Very personal, interesting and enjoyable for both the experienced whisky drinker (my big brother), the lapsed whisky drinker (LH), the retired whisky drinker (dad) and the novice (wee brother).

The tour of the facility was followed by a complimentary testing session from the casks and opportunity to fill our own bottles with 14 year old malt. We then had a tasting and nosing session, culminating with a 30year old malt that retails at £355! Wow. Nectar.

Anyway, enough whisky...

LH spent the night at his brothers, eating curry and watching rugby, while RH spent the the day in town with her friends.
