Birthdays & elephants

Soft green velvety elephant, who could resist the temptation to touch you?!

I managed to make it to the gym today for all of 40 mins, so I squeezed in a cycle and some weights, before being whisked off to Ikea. I've got Stuff To Buy. Given my new flat is a dark and dingy, light-sucking black Hole, some uplighters were high on the list, along with Plants not requiring much light. Ha. The assembly of the uplighting was nothing short of a challenge. But now we have a light, vegetationy 70s living room, as opposed to a dark, dingy 70s living room. This is real progress.

And out for a glass of prosecco at 4pm, then birthday dinner at Vittorias (or, as I'm prone to calling it, lavittorias...). I insisted on having la famille all back to the New Light Planty Flat for a cup of tea after so I could proudly present Pat with her birthday present: 2 cushions. As we predicted, they will "go just perfectly lovely in the guest room". Will they? Just tell me if you don't like my patchwork efforts, honestly it's fine. Just say.
