Busy, but steady, day today. She was up fairly early, again wandering between my room and going to say hello to our guest. We had a play together. Katie's been on a brick-building mission the past few days, so there were lots of "mummy build-it house/tower" requests in my room this morning.
It was another nursery morning today. She was still very upset - they said she cried for about half an hour, and was crying when I came back. But she had a bit of time where she went and played. They're handling it brilliantly, and letting her completely do it in her own time. She's uncertain about joining the others at the table, so they put her plate next to her where she was playing, rather than forcing it and upsetting her. Whilst she didnt eat a lot, she did try it today, which is progress. She didnt want to be taken outside, so they didnt make her, and she wandered out (briefly) when she was ready, although she did come back in rather than play. She does like things there - she talks about nursery's fish, outside and dinosaurs. Its just the getting used to the rest of it thats taking time.
When I picked her up, I gave her some lunch before we all went for a little expedition to some charity shops - we're on a mission to find some Mopatops on video/DVD! She's brilliant, wandering between the shops to look for moremore to play with and look at, without demanding I buy.
We said goodbye to our friend and took her to the station. Katie and I then went for a walk and got a drink together. We stopped in Mothercare for a nappy change and she spent quite a while going round and round in the "try it out" little tykes cosy coupe taxi, which she thought rather fabulous.
We then drove to meet Granny and Grandad from work. She had a very short snooze before waking up and being very pleased to see them. We got another drink and Katie spotted some ducks across from where we were set. We went and bought some bread and took it to feed them. She was clutching the bread from the shop shelf right to the ducks. It was getting really rather windy and there were a couple of gusts that took her (and the ducks) by surprise! She loved watching the ducks chase for the bread - Grandad had the ducks running in herds - and this is what the photo is.
