FLYING THE FLAG

A different flag this morning from my Gable End garret view at work. There was a Battle of Britain parade yesterday and the flag is blowing well above the Town Hall. Good for them. But with these tail-of-hurricane winds and the council planning proposals the flag nor the flag pole may last much longer.

What a good idea to knock down the council offices, redevelop and expand to accommodate two more restaurants in a town where we have many small and very good cafes vying for business. And offer space for retailers. We already have a new expanse of retail space opposite the railway station, part of which the council offices are going to move into, but with no parking facilities. Well there's another good idea. The town already has hellish parking problems, but by building more shops on the present car park, whilst so many original High Street premises remain empty, I cannot understand the logic at all.

Could someone with common sense please stand for council election?
