Lake Mead

After 2 hours sleep we were up and on our way to kayak on Lake Mead. We stopped at the Hoover Dam on the way.

Kayaking was great fun. It was quite weird to think that somewhere so natural and beautiful is so close to the bright lights and noise of Vegas. It was nice having a break for a while.

Lake Mead is very beautiful. Water levels have dropped dramatically in recent years. I wonder what the Lake will look like on my future visits.

After our kayaking we visited the World's Largest Gift Shop.

We then went to the strip and saw Caesar's Palace and the Forum Shops and the Treasure Island 'Sirens of Ti' pirate ship battle show.

On the way home we stopped at the Peppermill Fireside restaurant for dinner / breakfast (or whatever you call a meal at 3am).
