Forgot my skateboard
Weather still pretty miserable so spent a lot of the morning getting pictures of things for eBay - part of my so-called "clearout". Biggest seller last weekend was a James II (or VII round here) gunmoney shilling which has been lying around for ages and went for just over £100 much to my surprise. Not even a real shilling as it was made out of gunmetal (or any old junk) after the Orange threw him off the throne. These tokens were issued in Ireland where he had fled to and the idea was that when he got his throne back he would give proper silver shillings in exchange. About as useful as green shield stamps. Later down to look at the river and the islands. The river was pretty high, fast-flowing and uninviting. I checked out the spot where this picture by Peninsula Light was taken and today it was a foot or so short of that level. Ended up with this picture of a skating area in the neighbouring Bught Park.
