Gardening boots
I like old things that still have a purpose. I was lucky with these boots as they belonged to my son, John, who must have worn them every day for more than a year. He left them behind when he moved to a flat in Wimbledon. So I began wearing them for gardening. They're perfect - moulded to my feet and nicely worn and stained. John is a little sorry to have lost them. I wore them today to mow the lawn for the first time since I returned from Scotland at the weekend. I took a photograph of the chutney (see Sunday) in the pan but the rules say one picture and the boots edged it.
