Happy Birthday Uncle Jim
Today is my little brothers birthday and I've had no luck catching him on skype. So happy birthday Jim.
Today was supposed to be the car boot sale at the school and we have a pile of stuff we were going to load onto Dad's ute to take but it's been cancelled.
My parents came over anyway and Alex practiced his speech for them. He won the first round and now has to do his speech again next week. He is talking about how he wants to be a photographer when he grows up and starts his speech by taking a photo of his audience but the old P&S he is using is very slow to start up and somewhat unreliable which doesn't make for a smooth start when he gets on stage. So Dad brought over his camera for Alex to try, it's a neat little SLR style Fuji. Alex has no problem starting it up but tends to get distracted trying to compose and focus the perfect shot. Bit of a family trait I guess but the idea is for him to shoot quickly with the flash for impact and then launch into his speech. We'll keep practicing. Meanwhile Ben was very happy to get the old P&S back. He considers it his camera and it's nicely indestructible so I'm happy with his using it but he gets very frustrated with the slow start up and unreliable buttons. When it works though he is a happy little boy :)
I snapped this shot of him copying Alex, as Alex practiced taking photos for his speech.
