Happy Birthday

Today's upload is a blip of the birthday cake John and I made for our grandson who is 15 today.

Over the years we have made cakes which reflected his interests . So far he has had several football themed cakes, guitars , a mobile phone even a camera. His interests are wide being very musical and a National Mod gold medallist, has medals from the local Speech & Drama and is also very sporty with medals for athletics and football . Now playing tennis as well but we reckoned a tennis racquet would have been more awkward. Might do one next year.

He stunned the camera club members two years ago when still 12 years old by winning an open competition and a monthly one and was promoted to the Advanced section ( no junior section in our club )

A complete all rounder you might say and off course we are very proud of this young man. He has travelled to the home games at Boghead and enjoyed the opportunity to be ball boy at the first game of the season , a big highlight for him. However his greatest football highlights are watching his beloved Scotland play at Hampden. Hence the cake for today. He would love to come with us to Liechstenstien to cheer on his team but knows school is a major priority for him with his exams this year and next year.

Headed off now to celebrate his birthday with the family but will catch up when we get back later.

That's us back and Steven was absolutely delighted with his cake the feathers and badge now adorn the Glengarry he " borrowed " from John for the Scotland - Czech game and he has returned John's feathers which he now has on his new Glengarry.

A very long day as we went over to Balfron via Partick where we went to tennis sports shop to buy a special tennis rucksack for his birthday. It's always lovely and very cheering to see his response to his birthday gift even at the grand old teenage 15 years! Thrilled to receive it and very useful as he now practises 3 times a week as well as being in the football team . Who said our teenagers were couch potatoes ?
