Tales from St Ives

Tonight we had the Inaugural meeting of our new St Ives Bay Rotary Club

Without going into the full details, I left my old Club earlier this year after comments made about women members which I & others objected to. A few weeks later we decided to try to set up a new, modern Rotary Club, with people of all ages and sexes, with no formality in the club so there is no dress code, no regalia so it will attract a younger age group.

We were over the moon when recently we got to the 25 minimum we needed, & tonight we became official with 27 members, 13 women & 14 men of all ages, a great group all interested in doing something for our community & others. Our web site is here

The group picture from today is here (I'm on the far right), but I much preferred this picture of Shree, one of our new founder members, who decided to wear a Sari tonight. This one is a wedding sari. Apologies for the attempt at a BW background with the colour image, my first ever attempt at doing this but I thought it might work)
