Moor Divock
This is my favourite place on the planet. It is peaceful, tranquil and (almost) untouched by humans - at least in the last 2000 years!
Spread out over the moor are many, many things from antiquity. Graves from 4000 years ago and stone circles from a similar time. This is a cairn circle, a stone age burial mound which was robbed in the Victorian Era by the manly types who took their ladies to see them dig the graves up. There were 2 burial urns in the mound, with cremations in - not exciting enough for the Victorian male, who referred skulls to take home as trophies!!
I could spend hours here - even when it is cold and rainy!
