Light play

The light in Provence is unequalled. No wonder it was the home of so many great artists. Photographs don't do it justice: it's to be observed directly.

It deepens the natural ocres, blues, yellows and greens; it lends everything a a sharp quality; and, as in this picture, as the sun begins to set, it highlights the outlines of the smallest shapes. The waters are beautifully clear, you can swim with eyes wide open and see fishes of all kinds flitting by.

As for today, we visited some potential homes to begin calibrating what we want against what the market offers. More of that tomorrow and monday, before we move on to Marseille and then Avignon.
