Bean there, done that
This small farmers' market in West Philadelphia has been blipped a few times before, and by me exactly 11 months ago on October 16th 2010.
Saturday is its main day but Thursday afternoon sees its appearance in a reduced form. Today was wet but the stallholders were undeterred under their rainproof canopy. This elderly couple were selling a range of fresh vegetables of which the beans, green, yellow and purple, were especially enticing.
I like the way this enterprise seems to operate in an almost informal fashion, setting up alongside a small park community park and patronised by a range of customers typical of the socio-economic mix of the neighbourhood.
