Still Life

In the six years we've lived in this house, one of the trees in our garden has always looked very sorry for itself: bare-branched, twiggy and old, it's appeared to be on the way out.

Surprisingly though, this year it's burst into blossomy life.

It's a crazily uplifting thing to see.
