Alexei & Kostya

A couple of years ago I went Russia with a Tearfund (a Christian relief and development charity) to visit a Christian drug rehabilitation project and HIV education programme supported by Tearfund.
Two of the senior workers, who have been through the rehab and are now recovered, are visiting Scotland at present and have been sharing with church groups, and others, the work they are doing.
Part of the group & spouses met up with them today to catch up on how the work is going and expanding and they have made a lot of progress in the last couple of years and are about to open a new residential unit, despite having very limited resources. Nearly all the workers in the project are ex-addicts and their are many couples involved so they can help men & women - both Alexei's and Kostya's wives play a big part.
It is inspiring to see and hear what can be done by dedicated people who have, as they would say themselves if you asked them, experienced God changing them.
