Go Scotland.... Or is it the All Blacks now...?

Have arrived in Christchurch and am awaiting my flight onwards. I was hoping to blip a dramatic first day in the country but with the opportunity for free and definite Internet access I thought I better grab the chance while I could.

For those of you who have turn deaf ears to any sporting championship, New Zealand is hosting the rugby world cup. Being in the country, albeit only in the airport, you'd be hard to miss it. Even Sydney airport has caught the fever - something i discovered while wandering around it at 5.30 in the morning!

Swarms of people decked out in their home team's colours have past by me. Arguments over jonny wilkinson's kicking, will the All Blacks win, why they haven't won in 24 years have been going on. Shops have every imaginable strip on sale. Advertising has gone mad.

The excitement is infectious as is especially the passion New Zealanders seem to have for their beloved All Blacks and it can even put a smile on your face. Or maybe that's the hope of bumping into the Scotland team who I hear maybe catching a flight from here.

Luckily I am a rugby fan but even if I wasn't it is certainly going to be an exciting first few weeks!
